Who we are
We are the Indiana State University Basketball Band, newly renamed the Blue Thunder. We are made up of 60 to 75 players who are selected by audition. Two bands, the Blue Band and the White Band, alternately perform at men's and women's home basketball games at Hulman Center, a magnificent 10,000 seat arena. The repertoire of the Basketball Bands consists of a variety of jazz, rock, and other popular musical styles.
Members annually travel to the men's and women's conference basketball tournaments, and recently performed at both the NCAA and NIT tournaments.
We are made up of Indiana State University students from many different majors, hometowns, ages, and walks of life. We are an intricate part of Sycamore life and the Terre Haute community, performing at events both on and off campus.
